A group of young lady tigers from Northwestern Youth Athletic Association (NYAA) youth sports created a fun way that we can all promote a healthy body, mind and soul!
For the past few years, each October which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the girls participate in a charitable breast cancer walk. This year, they want to bring this sense of unity closer to home.
To honor those living with breast cancer and to raise awareness about steps we can take to reduce the risk of getting breast cancer, these girls recruited their NYAA Field Hockey teammates and coaches and planned a “Mustaches for Health” awareness day on October 20, 2013. (Weather permitting.)
Show Your Support
Join us at the Northwestern Lehigh High School Field Hockey field on October 20th. The games begin at 1:00 PM for the junior division and 2:30 PM for the senior division. The NYAA Field Hockey program consists of girls from first through sixth grades. Their volunteer coaches are players from the Northwestern Lehigh High School Field Hockey team. They all will be wearing mustaches and pink ribbons! “Mustaches for Health” breast cancer risk reducing health tips will also be provided.
In between the junior and senior games, at approximately 2:15 PM, a group photo of all the NYAA field hockey girls wearing their mustaches and pink ribbons will be taken.
Be a Team Player
All are welcome to participate! Family, friends and fans are invited to get a free face painted mustache! Face painters will be available for anyone interested in a stylish stache to show their support. Hopefully enough of you will join in and we’ll take another group photo!
You can also download, print and cut out a mustache to wear! Visit NYAATigers.org/mustache for the download.
NYAA is committed to providing and promoting a healthy environment for youth sports.
